There are bands that come along at just the right time in your musical journey that hit and stick with you through the years. That's Mest.
Having been a fan for over 25 years, I finally got to see them perform at Commonwealth in Calgary on Sunday night. After all these years, would their songs carry the same meaning and weight live? 100%!!
The band crushed an intimate and tight set that carouseled through their decades long discography. Old classics like Drawing Board, Rooftops, and Jaded soared. Hearing their new single, Hate You Sober, from their aptly named latest record, Youth, live was like the band was just getting started. The energy was electric. Topping off the set, was the sharp and fun, Cadillac. It took me back to the days.
Mest deliverd on its infectious high-energy and uniquely crafted pop punk sound. Just as they did all those years ago.
