As an elder pop punk fan waiting for Blink in #yyc, I wanted to be present for #turnstile as I am a massive fan of their sound.
From the jump it was evident they came to destroy. The best part though, how the band projected a grinding, groovy, melodic, and polished unison. Hardcore never felt so chic and effortless - in all the right ways.
Expertly navigating a tight 30 minute set, Turnstile left no doubt their technical prowess and stage presence. Daniel Fang's drum solo was the sonic equivalent of an unforgettable sci-fi storybook trilogy. Beginning, middle, devastation.
Adding to the sonic soundscape, never have I heard guitars direct a room and demand effortless attention.
Turnstile belong in the next great conversation.
